Afsara Zahin Chowdhury

Afsara completed her BSc in Aeronautical Engineering with a major in Aerospace from Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2022. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the aerodynamic performance of Gurney flaps on NACA 2412 airfoils. Following graduation, she served as a Lecturer at her alma mater. She joined Ewoldt Research Group in 2025 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with research interests in the rheology of complex fluids, mechanics of soft materials, and bio-inspired material design.
