Maxwell Marsh
Biography
Maxwell C. Marsh Graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2019-2022) with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. While an undergrad, he conducted research with Professor Aimy Wissa in the Bio-Inspired Adaptive Morphology lab on the flight characteristics of the Dissosteira Carolina grasshopper.
Maxwell is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with funding from General Motors. His research involves characterizing the rheological properties of dispensed materials in use at GM body shops. He is also working on generating experimental limit lines for edge fracture using theory and experimentation. He is supervised by Professor Randy H. Ewoldt.
Research interests
Thixotropy of adhesives, anticipating edge fracture, shear normal stress differences
Hobbies
Playing the cello, cooking, fermentation, 3D printing
