Present Research: Computational study of Elastoviscoplastic (EVP) fluids in multiphase flow

Applying the Saramito Model to study EVP’s subjected to common flow scenarios: Simple shear flow (Couette flow), Extensional flows and pressure driven (Poiseuille) flow.

The inter-phase is simulated on an Eulerian mesh by the mass conserving MTHINC Volume of Fluid method

The transient, three dimensional and coupled continuity, momentum and stress equations are solved numerically applying the fractional step method to the incompressible Navier Stokes Equation

Jointly supervised by Prof. R. H. Ewoldt (UIUC, Illinois) and Prof. L. Brandt (KTH, Stockholm)
